HR and Payroll Administrator
women's aid federation of england

Job Description

HR & Payroll Administrator

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. Over the past 40 years Women’s Aid has been at the forefront of shaping and coordinating responses to domestic violence and abuse through practice. We empower survivors by keeping their voices at the heart of our work, working with and for women and children by listening to them and responding to their needs. We are a federation of over 220 organisations who provide more than 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across the country. Our campaigns achieve change in policy, practice and awareness, encouraging healthy relationships and helping to build a future where domestic abuse is no longer tolerated.

We are looking for an administrator who is highly organised and has great attention to detail. You will use your proven administrative skills to assist with all aspects of HR, including recruitment, payroll, and record keeping. As part of the Operations team, you will also assist with the day to day running of general office functions within Women’s Aid’s National Offices. With a varied range of responsibilities, this role will be crucial in keeping Women's Aid running efficiently.

It is essential that you have experience of providing support to an HR and/or Payroll team. You will be able to work on your own initiative, have an eye for detail and the confidence to make changes to improve processes. With well-developed admin and coordination skills and a flare for multi-tasking, you are great with people and are comfortable meeting multiple deadlines. You must also have excellent MS Office skills with high levels of competency in Excel, Outlook and Word.

Women’s Aid is working entirely online now, so this role can be based anywhere in the UK, if you have internet access. The post is being advertised on a temporary basis, due to recent changes in the team and the need to consider longer-term team structure. As such, there is a chance that this role will continue in some form beyond 6 months, but it would also suit someone looking for a short term position.

Women’s Aid offers a family friendly culture, with flexible hours and generous leave policies. Staff also have access to a tailor made development process, centred on our values, and recognising staff strengths. As part of this, staff are allowed 8 study days each year (pro-rata), on top of the already generous 27 days annual leave, plus Bank Holidays. We also offer staff networks for BME and LGBT staff, an Employee Assistance Programme, and loans for travel cards and training courses.

Salary: £19,538 pro rata
