Job Description
The University of East London Students' Union is a membership organisation set up to ensure students are empowered to have a full university experience. We offer our members opportunities to meet new people, explore interests and establish mechanisms to improve their course and University.
This is a new role. The events manager will be responsible for delivering an events programme which contributes to the Union’s strategic objectives and supports community-building and social cohesion in the University. This is not only about bar/venue entertainment but also lecture series, day trips and anything else which might support our objectives. They will also support student-led events, ensuring opportunities for personal development are maximised within those events, and embed a culture which encourages student leadership of projects. The manager will also help us to develop a sustainable model for entertainment events.
You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent). It would help if your degree was in event management or a similar area. You should be able to demonstrate how you have successfully done similar work in other organisations. Although membership/not-for-profit experience would help, we are open to applications from anybody with an events background. Students’ union experience is not a requirement.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
