Job Description

Together Co is Brighton and Hove’s leading loneliness charity, working to create connections that change lives for the better across the city. We run Befriending and Social Prescribing services supporting more than a 1500 people a year and have 400+ volunteers working alongside our small paid staff team. In a city of 300,000 people no one should be lonely or socially isolated. Together, we can make sure no one is.

A person centred, collaborative and compassionate approach is at the heart of what we do and we are looking for someone with the right skills and attitudes to take our befriending operations through the next phase of development, building on more than 20 years of successful delivery.

This is a rare opportunity to join the management team of an organisation that is moving from strength to strength. A recent rebrand has not only given us a fresh new look, but has also helped us rationalise our aims, align our services and further exemplify our values. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Officer, you will lead the strategic planning, development and operational delivery of Together Co Befriending, bringing a bold, innovative and evidence-based approach to future-proofing the service, growing its scope and reach, whilst upholding high standards of quality and accountability.

 You will have:

  • at least three years experience of managing projects and contracts to deliver services, on time and within budget, to meet the needs of service users;
  • experience of working collaboratively with partners, users, service providers, volunteers and staff to evaluate and develop services; and
  • demonstrable commitment to challenging racism, inequality and unfairness.

We want our organisation to reflect the diversity of the population we serve and we welcome applications from people from all backgrounds, especially, including people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities. The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
