Job Description

R.A.B.I is looking for a new trustee to join its board.

Our trustees are pivotal to setting the strategic direction of our organisation as well as holding management to account to ensure we deliver relevant and effective support for the farming community in England and Wales.

A call to our Helpline puts farmers, farmworkers and their families in touch with an experienced team who can offer vital sources of support when times get too tough to bear alone.  Amongst its wide range of assistance, last year (2019) in Wale, R.A.B.I gave grants of £464,000 to improve the home life of farming people of all ages.

Ideally a bi-lingual Welsh/English speaker with a background in farming or a related agricultural industry, our trustee will contribute time, expertise and local or specialist knowledge as a member of the governing body of this 160 year old charity.

This is a voluntary role which involves attendance at regular meetings (usually in Oxford) as well communicating by telephone/electronic means. There will also be opportunities to join sub-committees and attend events in Wales and elsewhere. Reasonable expenses can be reimbursed as appropriate.

Previous experience as a trustee would be welcome and specific knowledge of strategic planning, governance, finance, HR, fundraising or marketing, in a charity or business environment, would be useful.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
