Job Description

The People’s Empowerment Alliance for Custom House (PEACH) is looking for a part time General Manager. If you are a great communicator with excellent organisational skills and a passion for social justice, this could be the role for you.

PEACH is a unique organisation with a reputation for ground-breaking community organising work in East London. It is a newly incorporated organisation set up over 7 years ago that aims to improve the jobs, housing, safety and health of Custom House using community organising methods. PEACH have created a new General Manager role to help steer the organisation, its trustees, staff and volunteers through its transition to a more formal organisation and to help it grow and develop into a sustainable organisation.

As the General Manager you will work with community leaders and fellow staff to create a resilient organisation that will enable us to expand our work and deliver on our mission of community organising and empowerment. You will have previous experience of project management and financial administration and excellent attention to detail. In this role you will have primary responsibility for HR functions, systems and processes, financial management and business planning/fundraising. You will also have a commitment to inclusion and diversity.

The General Manager role involves working closely with the trustees, to ensure smooth, robust and transparent management of all the company’s activities, including financial management, scheduling and general administration.

Location: Newham, London

Contract type: 1 year fixed term, part time 3 days a week plus occasional overtime (with potential to extend)

Salary: £34,000 - £40,000 per annum, pro rata dependent on experience
