Job Description

The Elfrida Society has supported people with learning disabilities in Islington since 1919.  We are a local charity well established and respected in our borough delivering a range of services with a focus on pioneering work which challenges attitudes towards people with learning difficulties and influences local and national policy. Our mission is ‘to make it possible for people with learning difficulties to manage as much of their lives as they want or feel able to do’.

The aim of this post is to oversee the consultation work at The Elfrida Society. This includes providing direct support, facilitation and management to a team of people with learning difficulties and disabilities to monitor and quality review statutory service provision for people with learning disabilities to improve services, drive change and best practice.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and help shape services for people with learning liabilities and ensure that people’s interactions with the organisation are the best they can be.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the key issues affecting people with learning disabilities or vulnerabilities and a proven track record of developing and managing advice and / or advocacy services, or other front-line services which involved responsibility for safeguarding and ensuring the highest quality provision.

The Elfrida Society employee benefits include 3% pension contribution and generous annual leave entitlement. We also offer staff excellent training and development opportunities.
