Project Manager
the centre for youth impact

Job Description

The Centre for Youth Impact is a small charity with a UK-wide reach. We support a community of organisations committed to working together to progress thinking and practice in impact measurement in provision for young people. Our vision is for all young people to have access to high quality programmes and services that improve their life chances. We believe that embedding more meaningful approaches to evaluation, quality improvement and impact measurement at the heart of resilient, learning organisations is key to achieving this vision.

This new Project Manager role will co-ordinate the Centre’s work on its main practice development projects, focused on high quality and responsive delivery, connecting with frontline youth work practice, and building partnerships. The Project Manager will also nurture key relationships with the Centre’s regional and national networks, and play an active role in the development and refinement of our programme offer in a cycle of continuous improvement.

This role will also have a particular focus on drawing together actionable insights and key learning from across our complex and ambitious programmes of work– transforming the tacit knowledge that exists within the organisation into explicit knowledge that shifts thinking and practice. This will include contributing to the production of a range of material for external publication and internal learning and relfection, as well as developing and refining internal systems that will both manage programme delivery and hold the Centre’s collective learning from those programmes.

We are looking for a candidate who is sharp, enquiring and an outstanding communicator. We need a strategic thinker who can seek out, digest and connect insights and share them with others in a way that inspires change. You will need a strong understanding of – and ideally experience in – frontline provision for young people. This knowledge will help you situate your work in the policy and practice context for the youth sector . You will need to be energised and excited by the opportunities to work with and alongside the youth sector to affect change. We need you to be imaginative, and to understand and communicate the importance of impact, measurement and improvement in social programmes.

You will need to be comfortable and confident with CRM and information management systems, and an accomplished project manager who is comfortable keeping large and detailed programmes of work on track. You will also need to be comfortable working in a small charity, requiring agility and adaptability to respond to fast-moving opportunities.

Please see the attached job description for the person specification and further details on how to apply. This can also be found on our webiste.

The deadline for receipt of your application is 12:00pm on Friday 29 November 2019. Applications received after this time will not be considered.

Interviews will take place on Friday 6 December 2019 at our offices in Hackney, E8.
