Job Description

Carer Services Manager:  This is a Senior Management role which will hold overall responsibility for the effective delivery, monitoring, evaluation and quality assurance of our Carer Support Services across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland. The Carers Centre LLR has recently recieved 5 years of National Lottery funding and is moving to new city centre premises which offers much opportunity for development.   

It's an exciting time for this small but well respected charity and an excellent time for an experienced and ambitious manager to take on a new opportunity to help shape the charity for it's long term future.

The post-holder will be expected to have significant experience in a managerial role and an excellent working knowledge of what it means to be an unpaid carer, the challenges carers face and the impacts caring has. They will also have a good understanding of Health and Social Care services, the support that is available for carers and their legal rights under the Care Act and the Children & Families Act.

The Carer Services Manager will line manage a team of staff and volunteers and provide ongoing support for our Board of Trustees, acting as Company Secretary to ensure Charity Commission compliance. 

Working in partnership with the Development & Funding Manager, the Carer Services Manager will work to develop carer involvement and coproduction of service delivery plans, ensuring The Carers Centre support offer continues to meet the needs of local carers.

Our services are currently being delivered virtually and by phone however we will be returning to a hybrid combination of face to face and virtual services when circumstances allow with a great new 'virtual' space enabling this.  

20 hours a week – days/times to be agreed with some flexibility required to provide staff cover. This post can be a combination of office based and homeworking.

This is a fixed term post until March 31st 2025 with extension dependant on funding.
