Deputy Hostel Manager

Sunderland

Salary £12.22 per hour, 37.5 hours per week – plus additional as required. Working hours TBC.

The Ashley Foundation is a large homelessness charity and offers accommodation with support to vulnerable single homeless people.  We are looking to appoint a full-time Deputy Hostel Manager to assist the Regional Housing Manager and to work across our 26-bed homeless hostel, our emergency bed unit and all of our 40 self-contained semi-supported move-on flats, which all based in Sunderland.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of working in the homeless sector and have some understanding of the issues entailed in working with homeless people with support needs and the provision of 24/7 emergency services. The ideal candidate will also have some understanding of support planning and risk assessments, along with Health & Safety at Work.

The successful candidate should be energetic, hardworking, enthusiastic, and enjoy working as part of a team and to be able to use and act on their own initiative. It is the Deputy Hostel Managers job to ensure that the delivery of consistent high housing management standards is maintained and that our clients have a comfortable and safe stay in the hostel. The Deputy Hostel Manager will be responsible for managing, leading, and developing a team that provides holistic housing support services to single vulnerable homeless clients.
