Youth Engagement Officer
the anna freud national centre for children and families

Job Description

The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families supports distressed children and their families through innovative therapeutic practice and research, training and promoting awareness of mental health issues. In the April 2019, the Centre opened its new Centre of Excellence located in King’s Cross.

We are looking for a Youth Engagement Officer for the Child Outcomes Research Consortium (CORC). CORC is the UK’s leading membership organisation that collects and uses evidence to improve children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing. CORC has over sixty member organisations and an extensive Network spanning schools, voluntary and statutory service providers, local authorities, and professional bodies across the UK and beyond. CORC’s vision is for all children and young people’s wellbeing support to be informed by real-world evidence so that every child thrives.

CORC recently introduced this post to support us to strengthen our youth involvement.  We are committed to taking a more strategic, planned and consistent approach in this area, and the post-holder will play a key role in creating, developing and implementing relationships, processes, and initiatives to achieve this. The post-holder will be part of the CORC team and will work closely with Participation colleagues in the Centre – as well as developing relationships with Participation Leads in our member organisations.

We are looking for a collaborative, proactive, motivated individual with experience of actively engaging and supporting young people to participate, collaborate and influence the development and creation of services, with a commitment to all that CORC stands for. You may have an NHS or mental health background, work in youth work or social care, within a local authority, community or voluntary sector organisation, or a school, or you may come from another field entirely.

We are offering the role as a part-time fixed contract. We will also consider secondments.

The post-holder will be based at Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families, 4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH or at our Northern Hub in central Manchester.

Please specify your preferences in your supporting statement.
