"I have found contributing to the work of the TWTF over the past 10 years immensely rewarding. I know that the decisions trustees have made to provide assistance to people in desperate need has improved the lives of thousands of Thames Water's customers.
We are seeking to refresh and strengthen our board by welcoming new enthusiastic trustees to carry on our vital work". Chair of Trustees , Linda Perham
This important work is ongoing through the generosity of Thames Water who donate to the Trust each year, removing the need for trustees to spend time on fund raising.
The Trust receives around £245,000-£500,000 per annum and uses the funds to provide white goods and beds to individual applicants. It also has a grants programme to fund positions in organisations who provide face to face debt advice.
We are seeking trustees who have knowledge of any areas of the debt sector, financial or legal experience and charity management and governance.
We are looking for people that they can contribute ideas into the good use of funds in addition to the statutory duties of being a trustee.
Most of all we are looking for people with the time and energy to devote to being responsible trustees to ensure good governance and oversee the running of the Trust.
You will need to attend four half day formal meetings per year in London plus other ad-hoc meetings and visits to funded organisations.
The Trustee term will be initially for 5 years and may be renewable.
Your application should be in the form of your CV and a letter stating why you would like to be a trustee of this particular trust, and the specific skills that you will bring to add value.
