Job Description

Talk for Health is a small, acclaimed and innovative mental health social enterprise in NW3.  Our aim is to demystify therapeutic talk and our approach has been shown to be as effective as therapy. Our service runs in Islington and Camden, funded by the NHS and grant-makers, and involves a packed schedule of free trainings, groups and events.

We need an exceptional organiser as our second Service Delivery Manager - a demanding but rewarding role in a fast-paced environment.

It is a 4 days a week role with starting salary of £22,400 a year, (the pro rata equivalent of £28,000).

Ours is a small, entrepreneurial setting and the core team will be you, our Psychotherapist Founder a second Director and second Service Delivery Manager at our home-based office in NW3.

You will need to:

  • Have your own computer – preferably Mac
  • Be based at our home-based office in NW3, visiting delivery sites in Islington and Camden as needed.  We would prefer someone who lives near or in Camden/Islington
  • Work some evenings and weekends
  • Be adept with Microsoft 365, Mailchimp, Eventbrite, project management software (we use Trello),  and preferably Wordpress and CRMs

Duties include:

  • Planning our schedule of groups and events well in advance
  • Booking and liaising with venues
  • Promoting and filling trainings and events to meet targets
  • Deal with and register participants
  • Ensure questionnaires are filled in and data is entered correctly
  • Onboard and help manage offsite associate trainers and volunteers
  • Promote our service in the community i.e. talk to community partners; distribute flyers and posters
  • Stocktake and replenish programme materials and stationery
  • Social media e.g. Mailchimp newsletters, Twitter, website and Facebook updates.

Person specification:

  • Extremely hard-working, energetic, conscientious
  • ‘Can-do’ attitude and calm under fire
  • Eagle eye for detail; obsessional about high standards
  • On the ball and able to multitask
  • An ingenious problem-solver
  • Warm yet firm; able to deal with people from all walks of life
  • Adept with software such as Excel, mail chimp, Eventbrite, Trello and WordPress

Ideally, you’ll also be a good writer and have a good eye for design. We care about the quality of our service and our communications.

This role doesn’t give sanctuary from stress but is an opportunity to be an organisational lynchpin in a fantastic and worthwhile social enterprise.  We plan to scale our operation, so there is scope for you to grow with us.

The position will begin with a 6-month trial period starting mid-January 2020.
