Evidence & Learning Researchers
start network

Job Description

Do you want to be involved in a game changing effort to transform the aid system?  Are you excited about the chance to shape a new independent charity?  Read on.

As a new expanding independent charity, we are recruiting two Evidence and Learning Researchers to be based in our central London office in Holborn.

These new roles will support the Head of Evidence in assessing and articulating the impact and learning of the Start Network and its activities.

Start Network is a global network of more than 40 aid agencies leading for radical change in the global aid system so that the world can deal better with the humanitarian challenges of today, and of the future.  Our aim is to deliver more effective emergency aid, harnessing the power and knowledge of the network to make faster and better decisions to help people affected by crises.

The successful candidates will be detail-orientated and highly motivated individuals with proven experience in key researcher skills including information synthesis and data analytics.

Are you driven to make a difference?  To work alongside a dynamic and talented team?  Are you committed to helping people and communities become more resilient in the face of increased risk to humanitarian aid crises?  If so, we look forward to hearing from you.

How to apply

Applications are by email and should include the following attachments in Word:

  • CV including the names, roles, relationship to you and full contact details for two references and an indication whether these references can be contacted prior to interview
  • Letter of motivation (no more than 2 A4 pages)

Please note that you must have the right to work in the UK to apply for this role.  Any offer of employment is subject to relevant checks.

ABOUT START NETWORK

Start Network is made up of more than 40 aid agencies across five continents, ranging from large international organisations to national NGOs. Together, our aim is to transform humanitarian action through innovation, fast funding, early action, and localisation.

We're tackling what we believe are the biggest systemic problems that the sector faces - problems including slow and reactive funding, centralised decision-making, and an aversion to change, means that people affected by crises around the world, do not receive the best help fast enough, and needless suffering results.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
