Job Description
Reports to: CEO and Treasurer
As the Sophie Hayes Foundation embarks on an exciting phase of growth and development, supporting women survivors of Human Trafficking, the Volunteer Finance Assistant will be a member of the new Senior Management Team.
We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper or accountant to join the charity on a part time basis, volunteering two days per month (or equivalent).
The purpose of this role is to provide administrative and financial processing support to the charity.
The Volunteer Finance Assistant will work closely with the CEO and Treasurer ensuring the charity's financial records are kept up to date and in line with the Charities SORP, and also assist with the monthly reporting to Board.
Key Responsiblities
- Reconciliation of bank payments and receipts within the charity's accounting system
- Reconciliation of credit card payments and staff expense claims within the accounting system
- Accurate posting of accounting and journal transactions
- Maintaining key balance sheet reconciliations
- Assisting with month end board reporting
Person specification
Skills and experience
- Minimum AAT qualified
- Experience using electronic accounting systems (Xero preferred)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
