Solent Mind is the leading ­mental health charity across Hampshire providing a range of high quality services to improve people’s mental wellbeing and to promote choice and rights to everyone who needs our support. Our services operate in various locations throughout the Hampshire area.

We are entering an exciting phase of growth, which will enable us to expand our services to meet growing mental health support needs in our local population, especially people whose mental health has been adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Our Peer Support portfolio continued to grow significantly, with peer-led services across community, primary, secondary and crisis provisions. We work with a number of NHS, local authority and third sectors partners to delivery lived-experience led support to offer help, hope and understanding to people experiencing mental health issues.

In partnership with Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust we are expanding our specialist peer support provision in Southampton, which includes the expansion of our successful Lighthouse crisis service alongside the development of peer support within community mental health teams in the city.

CRISIS & SECONDARY CARE PEER SUPPORT SERVICE MANAGER

Hours: 37 Hours Per Week (job share/flexible working applications also welcome)

Salary Range: £28,095 to £30,259 Per Annum (wef 01 April 2021)

Location: Southampton

Closing Date: Mon 22 Mar 2021 (Before 9.00am)

Interview Dates: W/C Mon 05 Apr 2021

Overall purpose: To lead and manage operations across the crisis and secondary care peer support service, in order to achieve better long term mental health outcomes for people. This will involve working in partnership, managing staff and budgets and ensuring delivery is in line with Solent Mind’s values and our contractual agreements.

Applicants must have personal, lived experience of a mental health issue as well as experience of managing projects and a clear understanding of the role of peer support in mental health.
