Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a voluntary Bid Writer to join the Snow Sports Foundation.

Who we are

SSF raises funds to provide snow sports opportunities to people with additional needs, mental health challenges, disabilities, financial hardship, or social circumstances, with the core focus being on supporting children and young people. 

The amazing benefits that snow sports has on these individuals is improved social, emotional and communication skills, as well as helping them to develop their fitness, balance, and concentration, ultimately leading to increased self-confidence. 

Board of Trustees

We have a small, experienced Board of volunteer trustees whose specialisms include marketing, strategy, grants, accountancy, and law. All members share a collective responsibility for running the Foundation. 

Role outline

  • Work with our Trustee Grants Specialist to identify appropriate funding and grant opportunities where we fit their criteria.
  • Write appropriately tailored grant/funding bids that meet funders’ interests and 

requirements and any other additional documents in support of funding bids. The information in the bids will generally be the same for each bid document and will effectivley mirror pervious bids.

  • Create a calendar of grant deadlines and track submitted funding proposals.

Skills

  • Experience in bid researching 
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and research skills are essential.
  • Creative and persuasive written and spoken communication skills 
  • Self-motivated and highly organised.
  • Ability to work remotely.
  • Ability to search online databases and other sources to identify appropriate funds.
  • Ability to organise your own work, track, and report back regularly.
