In these interesting times we are looking for an exceptional person to join our organisation, to work in local communities across Shropshire  developing new and imaginative ways to reduce loneliness and isolation, encourage self- help and improve well -being and independence for isolated, elderly and more vulnerable individuals.

We are a long-established LOCAL charity with a great reputation and a strong track record of delivering community projects. For 60 years we have been working county-wide with local people to develop and deliver practical solutions to rural problems. We reduce the disadvantage that can result from living in a rural area, such as poor access to services and support, and greater vulnerability to isolation, poverty and poor health.  We deliver our work through a variety of projects.

In the midst of the current pandemic we have seen an upsurge in community activity and volunteering, and support to enable this activity to be harnessed and developed is needed more now than it has been for many years.

Whether your  background is public sector or voluntary sector you will have a proven track record of developing initiatives with local partners; supporting community groups; organising events and working with volunteers. Your excellent “people skills” will enable you to build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective partners.
