Director
sanctuary hosting

Job Description

Sanctuary Hosting is a small charity that supports homeless people who are refugees, asylum seekers or vulnerable migrants by placing them in a rent-free spare room for an agreed period of time. The Director is responsible to the board of trustees for the management of the charity. They manage a small staff team to ensure the safe and effective recruitment, training, support and supervision of all hosts and volunteers. They oversee the guest referral process and all hosting placements. They work with the board to raise funds and ensure that the work is carried out to meet the requirements of funders and within budget. They take the lead in publicity and communications and external partnership working.

You will need experience of delivering high quality, confidential, user-centred services for vulnerable people. You will also need a good understanding of and empathy for the situation of refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants. An awareness of boundaries and willingness to engage in regular supervision to promote self care are essential.
