Job Description
We are looking for our first CEO to lead our organisation.
Our RSPCA Branch and Woodside Animal Centre provides rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming for dogs and cats in our area and turns over in excess of £1m per annum. Our superb state of the art Vet Suite, which is supported by the University of Nottingham Vet School, means that we can also provide our animals with first class veterinary care on site.
The role of the CEO is to provide leadership and vision to our Branch and Animal Centre to enable the charity to identify and seize opportunities, develop, continue to grow and maintain the strong reputation the charity has already established. The CEO will be responsible for strategic, financial, and operational leadership and overall day to day management of the charity and the services that it delivers.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Clear and inspirational leadership and people management skills including the ability to enthuse, motivate and deliver results
- Sound financial acumen and the ability to set and manage budgets
- A track record of securing funding in a tough financial climate
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate the strategic vision
- An ability to develop a long-term strategy for the charity, seeking opportunities to expand and build upon the services to meet the needs of our animals
- Strong marketing skills to maximise the brand and reach new donors and supporters
The successful candidate will be an ambassador for the charity and develop and build relationships with partners, supporters, funders, and potential funders to maximise opportunities for income generation. They will have personal drive, energy, integrity, adaptability, and sense of responsibility as well as be an inspirational leader with previous experience of providing management supervision to staff.
The role is based in Leicester at Woodside Animal Centre though the ability to travel round the various locations we operate and work within the Branch area is critical. There is flexibility on the days and hours worked and we anticipate a 5 day week with 37.5 hours.
The Charity CEO reports to the Board of Trustees who are responsible for Oversight and Governance. The Trustees will actively support our CEO in Strategy, Finance, Project Management, Events and Fundraising. In addition, the RSPCA HQ team support the Charity regarding governance and operations.
