Representation Employability Co-ordinator

Salary scale: pro-rata £20,884 to £22,602

Working hours: 35 per week, 38 weeks per year, linked to University term. Occasional weekends and evenings may be required to fulfil this role.

Reading University Students’ Union (RUSU) is seeking a candidate who can demonstrate strong training and development strategy skills combined with exceptional administration skills. The Representation team is responsible for supporting, enhancing and developing the representation of all students on campus – empowering the student voice. Training & development will be delivered by this role for all representatives, particularly for elected academic course and school representatives.

The role will:

- support the overall delivery of academic representation functions 

- develop and support academic representatives to enhance employability

- develop and administer reward and recognition initiatives

- support representatives’ campaigns

- assist in promoting engagement in democracy

- be part of a team planning and delivering various elections

Candidates will:

  • Have experience of studying or working in higher education
  • Have experience of undertaking administrative duties
  • Have experience of delivering training to adults, students or volunteers
  • Have an appropriate training qualification/equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Have experience of organising and delivering events
  • Have experience of managing multiple task and a diverse workload
  • Possess an understanding of diversity and equality issues
  • Be dynamic, forward thinking and able to work on own initiative
  • Be IT literate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
