Job Description

Salary scale: £32,053 to £37,718 p.a.

Working hours: full time: 35 per week. (Occasional weekends and evenings may be required to fulfil this role.)

Reading University Students’ Union (RUSU) is seeking an HR generalist for a role based on the beautiful Whiteknights Campus of the University of Reading. RUSU is a successful students’ union and employs both permanent and student staff to deliver a range of services and activities to support and enhance the student experience. 

We are seeking a self-starter for this mostly hands on operational role. Reporting into the Deputy Chief Executive the role is responsible for: 

  • the payroll function, 
  • all employee relations matters 
  • basic health & safety duties
  • co-ordinating the fulfilment of training requirements.

Candidates should:

  • possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • be a self starter and motivated by job satisfaction
  • have HR and employee relations experience
  • good working knowledge of employment legislation
  • experience in administration
  • have excellent computer literacy including payroll experience
  • have experience of health & safety procedures
  • excellent attention to detail skills
  • be punctual, reliable and be able to remain calm under pressure
  • Have experience of managing multiple task and a diverse workload
