Welfare and Grants advisor
police care uk

Job Description

The Welfare & Grants Advisor is a member of the Welfare and Therapeutic Services Team. The postholder will work in collaboration with our Trustees, staff and network of volunteer colleagues to ensure that those harmed because of their policing role, and their families, have somewhere to turn to when things get tough.
You will be responsible for assessing and prioritising beneficiary needs and providing practical help and advice, including case work; working holistically with people to address a variety of wellbeing needs. Acting as a first point of contact for new and existing beneficiaries, you will determine how the charity can best support beneficiaries across the UK through the provision of advice and guidance, including signposting and/or referring to other organisations and helping them access our financial support as appropriate.
The aim of our service is not to solve all the issues that people are facing ourselves, but to work with them to overcome life’s challenges together and linking in with other activities or services that are best placed to help.
