Consultants x2
off the record croydon

Job Description

Off The Record is a well established, award-winning mental health Charity with over 25-years experience of supporting and counselling young people in the boroughs of Croydon, Sutton and Merton.

Our vision is to bring an end to mental health misery for all children and young people. We believe that every young person should be able to fulfil their potential, regardless of their background. We support around two thousand young people each year and we currently have a work force of 65 staff including full time and part time employees.

We are looking for two dynamic and experienced freelance consultants to work with our Directors and senior managers to build on and integrate the learning from our service delivery during COVID and Black Lives Matters and to help transform our offer to children and young people by building a broader, more integrated mental health offer across all three boroughs.

Both roles are for 6 months ending 31st March 2021. Pay is £350 per day, inclusive of all expenses, up to maximum of 50 days work over 6 months. The majority of the work will be conducted remotely but consultants will be expected to be available for in-person meetings in south London approx. once per month. The roles are being advertised separately but we are also open to considering a single consultant with appropriate experience/background.

BAME & INCLUSION CONSULTANT

Off the Record is building exciting, innovative and creative offers to our local BAME young people. This consultant would be working to help us integrate our BAME work more fully into the wider charity's work with young people alongside strengthening our overall inclusion approach (inc. LGBTQ+; disability; race & religion). You would be working with senior managers & the BAME outreach team to create proposals for structures and a management framework for this work as well as building the sustainability of all our inclusion work through new funding bids in Jan-March.

You need to have a strong background in, and understanding of BAME mental health and other inclusion issues. You need to be able to see the bigger picture, have an excellent understanding of systems and structures, excellent analytical skills and a strong ability to communicate your ideas.

INTEGRATED SERVICES CONSULTANT

Covid-19 challenged us to quickly adapt our established service delivery models to remote working, new systems and innovative approaches that broke down many pre-existing borough-based service boundaries. We are now looking for a consultant to help us build on this new practice model to create an overarching framework that places young people’s voices at the centre of our thinking and integrates service provision across boroughs for children and young people. We want to build a mental health community for children and young people with the emphasis on empowerment, accessibility and immediacy.

You will need to generate workable solutions and proposals that create a "one door" approach for young people across all our boroughs, that place the young person at the centre of all responses and interventions and offers an accessible, integrated, broad-based holistic menu of mental health support with little or no wait times.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with experience of consultancy work in the third sector, preferably around young people’s orgnaisations, with excellent analytic skills and with knowledge and experience of systems, structures and change management.
