Community and Inclusion Manager

Off The Record is an award-winning and highly respected children and young people's mental health Charity with over 25 years' experience of providing support to children and young people. We offer a broad menu of person-centered mental health services including one to one support, webinars, in-person and online counselling, community outreach & services targeting young refugees and young carers.

We are “calling out” for an experienced mental health practitioner to join us as a Community and Inclusion Manager, managing our existing Community and Outreach team and working with us to inspire and ignite our inclusion agenda across the charity.

Salary: Pro rata of £34,886 inc OLW 

Hours: 28 hours p.w. (inc some evening and weekend work) 

Location: Based flexibly between remote working and Off the Record’s Croydon or Sutton offices with work delivered in Croydon, Merton and Sutton. 

This is a transformative post and we are looking for a dynamic mental health practitioner who is inspired to work alongside us in transforming our services to children and young people as well as reaching into our local communities to listen and learn and build and develop innovative and creative new services.

We are building a compassionate and inclusive mental health community for children and young people. We would want you to play a vibrant role in shaping this community.

We understand that COVID has had a huge impact on the mental health of children and young people and particularly those young people who face racism and discrimination.

You will need to have a deep understanding of the issues faced by young people who experience racism and other forms of prejudice and discrimination as well as having experience of building and maintaining new community development initiatives. Some experience of managing staff would also be helpful. 

You will also need to have an understanding and empathy for the challenges faced by young people in our local communities including serious youth violence, gang related issues, racism and discrimination and the social and economic factors that impact on mental health.
