Job Description

  • Will you share your expertise with a cutting edge charity protecting the rights of everyone affected by HIV?

We're the UK's HIV rights charity. We work to stop HIV from standing in the way of health, dignity and equality, and to end new HIV transmissions. Our expertise, research and advocacy secure lasting change to the lives of people living with and at risk of HIV.

NAT has an excellent track record of successfully influencing legislation and national policies which affect people living with HIV in the UK. Our organisation is credible, influential and effective.

We're seeking two new Trustees to join our Board of Trustees. You'll fulfil one of the following two criteria:

  • Based in Wales and with an understanding of the Welsh context for one or more of the following domains: political environment, health system, HIV, voluntary sector

Or

  • Living with HIV and a member of one of the following key populations affected by HIV: a young person and/or a member of an ethnic minority group disproportionately affected by HIV (Black African, Latin American, Black Caribbean, South East Asian).

If you are a strategic and independent thinker with excellent judgement and an understanding of the charity sector we would love to hear from you.

We welcome applications both from those with and those without knowledge of HIV, to complement a Board which already has this expertise.

NAT is a UK wide organisation but the majority of Board business is conducted at the London office. The time commitment is to attend 4 meetings a year, one away day, and reasonable availability to support staff with ad hoc advice. The position is unremunerated but we pay reasonable travel expenses.

Closing date for applications: Thursday 30 September 2021 (10am)

Interviews: Tuesday 19 October 2021

The application pack documents can be downloaded from the NAT website, or by calling the NAT office. All materials are available in larger fonts upon request.

National AIDS Trust is committed to equality and diversity and encourages applications from people living with HIV, gay and bisexual men, trans and non-binary people, and people from black and minority ethnic communities.

We welcome applications from disabled people and are committed to making reasonable adjustments wherever possible.
