Job Description

We are looking for new Trustees to join the Middlesex Association for the Blind.

Who are we?

The Middlesex Association for the Blind is a charity which has been supporting people with a visual impairment since 1922. We provide a range of services tailored to promoting independence and wellbeing of residents who are blind or partially sighted in northern and western boroughs of London.

We are looking for two new Trustees and we are particularly interested in applicants with:

• Knowledge of challenges of living with sight loss
• Expertise in social media and digital technology.

We are committed to diverse representation and encourage applications from anyone, regardless of age, background, formal education or cultural heritage. Previous Board or Trustee experience isn’t needed. Your passion, energy and commitment to help is more important.

We would be particularly interested to hear from you if you have knowledge or expertise in:
● Social media and digital technology
● Marketing, communications and public relations
● The challenges of living with sight loss
In addition to the above, knowledge and expertise in one or more of the following areas would be an advantage:
● Developing and growing an organisation
● Human resources and people management
● Commissioning or providing services
● Local government affairs
● Governance

With regards to the time that you are expected to commit to MAB, there are four board meetings a year. These are held in north London over an afternoon or via Zoom. We cover any reasonable expenses in terms of travel.
