Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Research Coordinator to direct and deliver a project to capture the stories of BME individuals living in West London during the COVID-19 lockdown. This is a 6-month, contracted position, working 15 hours per week.

Midaye has recently secured funding to capture stories of lived experience from BME individuals living in West London during the COVID-19 lockdown. Voices from the Lockdown will hold community storytelling sessions where small groups of BME migrants will be supported to tell their stories of the pandemic – their experiences and reflections, hopes and fears. We want to create a multivocal narrative reflecting the disparate voices of BME migrants. Our communities have been at the intersection of many severe challenges since the pandemic took off – at greater risk of death and serious infection; often working on the frontline in care work, deliveries, etc; with few financial resources to support them; isolated from support and government guidance by language, cultural barriers and racism. We want to explore BME migrants’ experiences of the pandemic, and reflections on learning and change.

The Research Coordinator needs to be a hard-working and effective individual who is able to design and drive an efficient data-gathering exercise and deliver well-packaged, substantial processed data which will be developed into the final product. The successful candidate will work with the Musawa partners to source participants and capture their stories. She/He will provide day-to-day support to each Musawa partner, working with them to meet their project goals. Candidates should have good experience conducting qualitative research with human participants and should possess high levels of cultural intelligence and awareness. The position will demand excellent project management skills, interpersonal skills and high levels of determination and motivation.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
