Job Description

Living Streets, the UK charity for everyday walking, is inviting applications for two or three new trustees to join its charity Trustee Board and one new non-executive director to join the Board of its trading arm, Living Streets Services (LSS). We want to expand the experience represented on the boards and ensure a balance of skills in order to support the organisation achieve its strategic objectives.

Our charity trustees bring our strategy to life. We want to enhance the skills of the board of trustees by recruiting at least two additional members. We are looking for people who have skills and experience in law, the active travel sector, the school sector, and who would bring a broader experience to the board in terms of ethnic background and an experience of disability. Skills in data analysis and IT would also be beneficial.

On the LSS Board, we are seeking one additional non-executive director. We are looking for someone with skills in any of the following sectors; transport or active travel, health, local authorities.

For both boards, above all, we are looking for passion, fresh ideas and a desire to improve our streets. Whatever your background, a commitment to the values and objectives of the charity overall will be crucial.

We’ve come a long way since our foundation in 1929 but we have not lessened our motivation and desire. Today we are a modern organisation with an excellent reputation for evidence-based policy, innovative campaigning and high-quality projects. We shall be planning our 100th birthday over the next few years!
