Our volunteer roles don’t require any previously experience – we offer thorough training. Our Educational Volunteers play an important role in KeshetUK’s work. For all of our volunteering roles, our priority is that you feel prepared.

As an Educational Volunteer, some of the opportunities include:

  • Supporting the facilitation of our LGBT+ inclusion training

  • Co-facilitating our leadership training in youth and young adult organisations

  • Co-ordinating our innovative educational enrichment activities (for example our film series and festivals programme) in collaboration with Jewish communities

  • Working with KeshetUK staff to develop content for our education programme

We are particularly in need of volunteers who have daytime availability and experience of working in formal and informal education settings.

What you can gain from volunteering with KeshetUK:

  • Knowledge of the Jewish and LGBT+ communities through the training you will receive and the people you will meet

Training & Support Provided:

  • All volunteers complete an induction which will be a minimum of 6 hours

  • When you are delivering, you will be paired with a senior volunteer or staff member

  • You will be given training in all aspects that KeshetUK believe are necessary for your role.

  • We offer 1-1 mentor support

  • You will be supported by our Director of Programmes and Programme & Volunteer Officer

What we would like you to bring to the role:

  • Commitment to KeshetUK’s vision and mission

  • Willingness to speak publicly (we will train you on this if you do not have this experience yet!)

  • Being a good communicator and listener

  • A willingness to talk about your journey as an LGBT+ person or an ally (someone who is not LGBT+ but actively supports the community); Training and ongoing support will be provided for this

  • Being willing to travel within London and to activities outside of London if necessary

  • Ability to answer challenging questions (with which we will support you)

  • Be reliable and follow guidance

  • Time management skills, as sessions will need to be kept to a time frame

  • Reflect on sessions that you have observed or delivered

  • Being able to deliver activities on topics relating to gender and sexuality

  • Being available for a minimum of 3 hours per month
