Community Response Officer (IDVA)
hourglass (safer ageing)

Job Description

Hourglass works with older people who may be isolated, vulnerable to exploitation or experiencing domestic abuse. With Hourglass you can help empower older people to stay connected, recover and age safely, by offering advice, specialised casework, and by raising awareness of abuse in later life.

We are looking for three Community Response Officers (IDVA), to provide specialist response to older people experiencing or at risk of abuse in Sussex. This means establishing a Hub for Sussex residents to bring casework concerning safer ageing and from which to work across the South of England to raise awareness of the abuse of older people. Chosen candidates will undergo certified IDVA training and perform specialist casework for victims referred to the service.

If you are excited to:

  • Shape the development of Hourglass’ first Community Response Hub in the South of England;
  • Tackle specialist casework as an independent domestic violence advocate for older people (training available);
  • Play a key role in the multi-agency network of domestic violence support across the Sussex area;
