Job Description
Project Worker – Community
Hibiscus Initiatives (Hibiscus) is a passionate, women-centred organisation, delivering high impact advocacy and advice services to Black, minoritised, and migrant women at the intersection of the criminal justice and immigration systems. Based at Hibiscus Women’s Centre in Holloway Road, our Community Team provides holistic, trauma-informed and gender-responsive support to women from across the London area.
We are looking for a passionate, empathetic, well organised, and resilient individual to join our team of Community Project Workers. In this role, you will manage a caseload of women affected by the criminal justice system and/or immigration restrictions, including survivors of trafficking. You will provide one-to-one support, advocacy, advice, and guidance, empowering women to overcome the barriers they face and move forward with their lives. You will contribute to the smooth running of the Women’s Centre and group activities to build practical support, wellbeing, and empowerment, and agency.
As an organisation working on racial and gender justice and migrants' rights Hibiscus is particularly keen to attract talent from Black and minoritised communities and those with lived experience of immigration restrictions, the criminal justice systems, or gender-based violence.
This post is restricted to women only as a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9 paragraph 1, Equality Act 2010.
We provide frequent training and development opportunities for all our staff and support staff well-being by offering regular well-being classes, clinical supervision, and external well-being activities.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
