Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and hands on Programme Manager to manage key programmes for the newly established Young People and Families team. This is an exciting time at Hackney CVS with some significant investment in our partnership work with young people in Hackney and across boroughs such as Haringey, Waltham Forest and Lambeth. Uniquely we are an infrastructure organisation that supports VCS groups but also deliver our own youth projects. We currently run Account our youth led police monitoring group, Politically Black our young black men’s project and also support the Cool Down Cafe initiative in partnership with the CCG and Pembury Centre. At the moment we are in the process of setting up a young black women’s project. All our work with young people aged 18-25yrs is underpinned by our youth leadership model that pays our leaders London Living Wage.

You will be skilled and experienced manager and a shrewd operator, and this role involves both performance management and direct work supporting our VCS partners deliver programmes and support forums. You will have an understanding of the voluntary sector but working in a local authority and business/commercial settings are equally valuable. What we do need you to have is a genuine understanding of the needs of African and Caribbean Heritage, Refugee/Migrant and Disabled communities.

Deadline for applications: 5.00pm, Friday 14 May 2021. Hackney CVS positively celebrates diversity and welcomes applications from people from all backgrounds. We are underrepresented by women in the senior team currently and given the nature of the groups we work with we would welcome applications from black women.
