Job Description

Who are GMYN?

For many young people, the transition to adulthood isn’t easy. In the UK, one third of young people are lonely, half feel unready for work and half feel like they don’t belong to their community.

At GMYN, our vision is #YoungPeopleCan and we help young people in Greater Manchester overcome this. We deliver a range of development programmes and drop-in activities to help young people transition to adulthood feeling skilled, supported and positive.

Founded in 2007 by our Chief Executive, Alex Fairweather, we have grown from a single volunteering project to a registered charity and have helped over 10,000 young people.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join GMYN’s operations team, providing strategic and operational financial support and advice. The role holder will provide day to day management and reporting of the charity’s income and expenditure as well as responsibility for preparation of GMYN’s annual budget and accounts.

You will have experience of working within a financial environment ideally in a management/leading role within a charity. You will have the AAT or similar qualification, or substantial equivalent experience. You will also have strong numeracy and communication skills and the ability to provide accurate and timely information.

In addition, you will have the ability to work flexibly as part of a team and on your own initiative working independently when required.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will also work alongside GMYN’s Operations Lead and work closely with the Business and Finance Administrator.
