Senior Philanthropy Advisor
community foundation

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled relationship manager with excellent understanding of social issues and community needs

Senior Philanthropy Advisor

Salary range: £33,655 - £37,341

Full time (35 hours a week)

Office based in Newcastle upon Tyne with some flexibility for remote working

At the Community Foundation, we share a love for North East England and believe in the importance of giving and philanthropy, backing local charities and championing disadvantaged people. Every year, we award grants totalling millions of pounds through funds set up by generous people and organisations. We embrace diversity and seek to engage people from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences in our work as staff, trustees, grant recipients and donors.

As our new Senior Philanthropy Advisor, you will promote and support philanthropy by providing advice and services to people and organisations that have set up funds with us. You’ll oversee a portfolio of donor relationships and provide philanthropy advice. And you’ll assess, manage and evaluate grant funding requests.

We don’t need you to have worked in funding before or have a degree. But you’ll have excellent interpersonal skills and experience of developing and managing relationships. You’ll have the skills to advise donors ensuring their interests are met. Your writing will be clear, concise and accurate. You’ll be confident working with data and ICT. And you’ll be strongly committed to your own learning and development.

Alongside an attractive salary and benefits package, we offer flexible working, a great office environment, travel-to-work schemes, half a day a month paid time off to volunteer and opportunities for professional development. Having worked from home since March 2020, we are returning to our office base in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, but trialling all staff being able to continue working remotely for 20% of their time a month.

To help us better reflect the communities we serve, we particularly encourage applications from people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, people who identify as disabled, and people under 40.

We are holding a webinar on Wednesday 11 August from12-1pm where you can find out more about the role and the work of the Community Foundation
