About us

Community Advice Works is a charity based in South East London that provides advice and advocacy to those that need it. Our Advice Team provides a specialist advice service to those in the London Borough of Lewisham. The team has built a strong reputation within the borough for providing high quality, independent, person-centred welfare and housing advice. We also have our Mozaic project at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital delivering holistic, advocacy support to women experiencing domestic abuse.

About the role

We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic individual with a proven track record of excellent advice & people skills to take on the role of Advice Supervisor/Senior Advisor. This is an excellent role for those who wish to gain experience in leading a team, whilst also still delivering high quality advice. The successful candidate will be part of our Advice Team, delivering high quality generalist advice to Lewisham residents. You will support the Service Manager in line managing staff and volunteers in the Advice Team, and will play a vital role in supporting the advice team to keep on top of changes in legislation across the welfare rights landscape.

The details

The role is anticipated to be 21 hours, spread over Monday – Wednesday (0.6 FTE based on 35-hour per week). However, we are willing to consider other work patterns -– please stipulate your requirements when you apply.

The remuneration package for the role includes a salary of £32,000 (pro rata), pension, and 28 days annual leave (pro rata), rising to 30 days after 3 years continuous service.

This will be completed remotely at some point between 10th & 11th November. Should you be successful in this, you will be invited to interview. Interviews are provisionally scheduled for 15th/16th November.
