Participation Associate
clean break

Job Description

Clean Break is a women’s theatre company, founded in 1979 by two women prisoners who believed in the power of theatre to transform lives.

Our vision is of a society where women can realise their full potential, free from criminalisation.

We’re looking for an early career artist strongly aligned with our values, passions and beliefs to design, facilitate and coordinate impactful participatory theatre work across Clean Break’s artistic programme over the next 12 months.

You’ll have a proven commitment to excellent participatory practice in the performing arts, and to amplifying diverse and marginalised voices in theatre.

You’ll get to work with our participation team on a wide range of projects involving our Members (women with lived experience of the criminal justice system and women at risk of entering it) and involving women currently serving sentences in prison or attending women’s centres.

This role is made possible by the Weston Jerwood Creative Bursary programme, which includes a range of career support for the successful candidate, as part of a network of 50 artists on the programme.

Because our work is about highlighting women's experiences and providing services to women, all of our positions are open to women only (except under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, part 1).

Deadline for applications: midday Monday 15 March 2021

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
