Project and Impact Manager
central england law centre

Job Description

We are the UK’s largest Law Centre and a charity providing free specialist legal advice to people in Coventry and Birmingham who are most in need.

We are looking for an experienced project manager who is a natural strategic thinker with proven ability in providing structure, direction and plans that ensure an organisation’s work is focused on outcomes and impact and that projects are delivered to deadline and on budget.

Life is full of crises and unexpected life events that we cannot plan for, such as job loss, mental and physical illness, family upheaval, periods of lower earnings and caring responsibilities. This is when knowing about your rights and being able to have them upheld is critical. We advocate for people, challenge unfair decisions, take cases to the highest courts and work in partnerships with other support services. We work tirelessly to fulfil our vision of a fairer, more just society in which an understanding of rights and their power is embedded within communities.

You will be joining the Law Centre at a critical time for the organisation as we embed a new five-year strategy that puts rights at the heart of solutions to poverty and disadvantage in Coventry, Birmingham and the wider West Midlands area.

You will oversee and manage some of our more complex multi-team projects and will be confident building excellent relationships and providing expertise across the operational team to support others to lead projects well.

You are motivated by and have an understanding of how data can drive service development, partnerships and policy-influencing activities and can help us accelerate and co-ordinate activities that contribute to our shift to being a data-led organisation.

Most of all you will be committed to the vision and values of the Law Centre and have an understanding of the impact of poverty on individuals, families and communities and the role access to justice and increased knowledge of legal rights has in mitigating this.

The position is full-time position with a salary of between  £33,991 and £37,362 depending on experience.

This role can be  based at either office with some travel between the two required for meetings as needed. We expect as we emerge from the pandemic that there will still be some flexibility for home-working some of the time.
