Job Description

CAYSH exists to provide safe homes and better futures for vulnerable young people. A registered charity operating since 1981, we provide advice and support services to young people, aged 16-25, facing homelessness.

Safeguarding Lead Trustee Appointment

Are you passionate in helping young people acheive their hopes and dreams and want to give something back to your community?

Young people are the future and CAYSH is proud to work with many of them accross South London. To help us deliver our important work, we are looking for candidates with experience of managing safeguarding, either in the statutory or charitable sector, with a keen interest in promoting the welfare of young people.

The Board of Trustees

Our Trustees make an active and positive contribution to the business. The Board has ultimate responsibility for all the activities of the Charity and for ensuring that we deliver good outcomes for our beneficiaries. Currently there are 11 Trustees from a variety of backgrounds.

What is needed?

Successful Boards are made up of people with a common goal, who bring a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience to the organisation. This, together with people who want to make a difference to the lives of young people in the local community, is exactly who we need. If you have experience in Safeguarding and can commit to attending evening meetings and events, we want to hear from you.

What is the commitment?

To support the decision making at CAYSH, you will be expected to attend an average of 12 meetings a year including Board, Committee meetings, Trustee away days and other events, e.g. AGM. Meetings generally take place at our offices in Croydon and held after business hours.
