Job Description

Do you remember a time in your life when somebody really helped you?  When a small intervention made a big impact on your life?

This is what we do at Buttle UK – funding activities and items that can change a young person’s life.

Buttle UK provides Chances for Children grants. These are flexible, needs-based grants to give children and young people in poverty and crisis, a chance for change. Working with a UK wide network of referral agencies from the statutory and charity sectors, we work with the family and referrer to agree a package of support that could be up to £2,000. With each grant we aim to increase children and young people’s capacity to engage in education and to improve their emotional and social wellbeing.

We need Grants Development Officers to help us deliver our vision. We are looking for people with a demonstrable passion for supporting children and young people, who are experienced in giving and/or receiving grants, flexible, friendly and efficient. You will be knowledgeable on issues around child poverty in the UK and have excellent communication and IT skills.

We are a small team recruiting to fill one permanent post for London and the South East (usually based in our Victoria office) and a number of 9 - 12 months fixed term posts. The fixed term posts are home based and can be based anywhere in the UK. For the fixed term posts we welcome applications for secondments.

We actively encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply as Buttle UK is committed to equality of opportunity and diversity. We encourage and welcome applications from all parts of the community regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.

The closing date for applications is 11.30pm, Sunday 5 July 2020.

Interviews will take place on 23 and 24 July on Zoom or similar.

Please, no agencies, and CVs will not be accepted. Please note that we will only be able to provide feedback to shortlisted applicants.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
