Bonny Downs Community Association are very excited to be launching it’s very own  Nursery in January 2022!

If you are passionate about children aged between 0-4 years old being provided with a safe, structured, and stimulating environment which enables them to thrive personally, socially, physically and educationally then we would love for you to join our team!

Bonny Downs Nursery will provide a much-needed childcare setting in the London Borough of Newham running Mondays to Fridays from 8 am to 6 pm for 51 weeks of the year. It will be located within The Well Community Centre, a thriving and well-known community centre placed at the heart of the community.We will provide full time care and early learning for 42 children from birth to school age, to address the significant shortfall and growing demand for quality affordable childcare services within East Ham, and to support local children to have the best start in life.

About the roles

We are seeking 2 x qualified & experienced Nursery Deputy Managers to job share for 25 hours per week as from January 2022. These new posts offer an exciting opportunity to play a driving role in launching our new nursery.

Role 1: Will commence as from 4th January 2022, 25 hours per week.

Role 2: Will commence as soon as possible, initially for 18 hours per week (increasing to 25 hours per week as from 4th January 2022) in order to support with the lead up to the opening of the Nursery.

Our ideal candidates will have a Minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification and will have experience of working within a Nursery. You will have a passion for working with young children aged 0-4 years old from diverse backgrounds and a commitment to the provision of high-quality childcare. You will have the ability to develop and maintain highly professional positive working relationships with children, colleagues, parents/carers, relevant Local Authority Departments, regulatory bodies and other agencies and professionals associated with the Nursery.

You will need to demonstrate that you are professional, organised, flexible, efficient and able to manage our Nursery staff in the absence of the Nursery Manager.

You will have an excellent understanding of the EYFS curriculum and requirements & a robust knowledge and understanding of the statutory requirements of legislation and Nursery Policies & procedure ie: Health & Safety, Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities, SEN etc

You will also need to be willing to work outside normal hours to fulfil the role or to provide cover from time to time.
