Job Description

Arachne is a registered charity and company by guarantee and has over 35 years’ experience in providing a range of free, accessible support and services. The main aim is to improve and sustain the quality of life and resilience of an ethnically diverse range of women and their families who are disadvantaged by physical/mental health problems, language barriers, difficulties accessing mainstream services or are 'hard-to-reach'.

Our three main areas of work are: welfare advice, health promotion, training/education.  In addition, we work in partnership/network and liaise with a diverse range of statutory and non-statutory organisations.

As part of our new project bid to The National Lottery Community Fund, we have secured funding for a new post of Chief Executive to lead Arachne through an important stage in its future development towards sustainability.

The post holder will work closely with the Board of Trustees and lead a small staff team.

We are looking for an experienced, energetic, creative, dynamic and determined female to lead Arachne and inspire, manage and develop the team. The successful candidate needs to have an excellent track record of fundraising, meeting financial targets, have outstanding communication skills, an innovative and creative approach, the ability to develop strong and positive relationships with internal and external audiences and able to balance and respond to a large and varied workload.  Underlining this they will need to have an excellent understanding of the challenges that face grassroots organisations in the current financial climate. Candidates should be able to demonstrate excellent understanding of the needs and experiences of migrants in the UK, and a clear understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities and safeguarding.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
