Job Description

This post can be home based with requirement for occasional travel and overnight stays across the UK.  Our offices are based in Kentish Town in London.

The postholder will be a champion for Salesforce, working with others to ensure that it is used as a core system in the organisation.   

AIMS OF THE POST

  • The Salesforce and Data Manager has responsibility for effectively developing, implementing, monitoring and managing the Salesforce Database and its efficient engagement with all other systems and software used by the organisation as well as the individuals using it.  The postholder will be a champion for Salesforce, working with others to ensure that it is used as a core system in the organisation.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement and maintain the Anne Frank Trust UK’s Salesforce Database to ensure accurate data collection and analysis, relevant outcomes and impact reporting
  2. Help to develop and oversee a data quality assurance process, ensuring that the data collected is full and robust and used accurately across the organisation
  3. Maintain data quality, build reports and create data insights
  4. Identify how to refine and improve the internal management and use of the Salesforce Database
  5. Ensure data hygiene by preparing and running appropriate data checks on a regular basis
  6. Work closely and support the Education, Fundraising and Operations teams to understand their needs and support their work
  7. Conduct research supporting the need for our work and into the efficacy of our programmes
  8. Work with external consultants, partners (e.g. University of Kent) and funders to implement and manage evaluation frameworks that meet all needs
  9. Develop and support the implementation of new or amended evaluation frameworks with the Anne Frank Trust delivery staff, ensuring that tools and processes are understood and used, helping staff to gather data effectively and gain feedback on progress.
  10. Work with the Fundraising and Database Officer to support and enhance Salesforce work in the Fundraising team
  11. Work with the Education team managing and monitoring information on all projects alerting appropriate staff if these are not on track or meeting targets.
  12. Provide training for staff to ensure appropriate and consistent use of salesforce.
  13. Keep up to date with developments in Salesforce to ensure the Trust remains on the cutting edge of Salesforce use.
  14. Liaise with our Salesforce partner, IT support Contractor and Web provider to ensure Salesforce is embedded and link to the Trust’s IT provision. 
  15. Analyse all data collected, drawing conclusions and making recommendations on how to improve our programmes and the way we measure impact including internal data to evidence impact and support production of annual impact survey
  16. Help to manage communications with all Anne Frank Trust staff, ensuring that all staff are up to date with developments on the impact and evaluation strategy, and have access to up-to-date statistics and analysis.
  17. Internal - use data to produce bespoke reports and develop dashboards to provide information and support strategic decision making
  18. External - use data to support the production of reports for service users, funders and donors
  19. Develop and create reports as and when required
  20. To undertake a continuous process of professional development and self-reflection, participating in training, and keeping up to date with best practice especially around latest developments in Salesforce and its applications.
  21. To be managed through close two-way communication with line manager, including monthly one to one Support & Supervision sessions and an Annual Appraisal.
  22. To be a collaborative team member with colleagues, participating in staff meetings and contributing to the development, cohesion, productivity and team fun of the organisation as a whole

Person Specification

Experience

  1. Experience of working paid or voluntary of operating and developing Salesforce in a Charity
  2. Experience of conducting research, producing reports, managing and developing research pr projects, manipulating and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data into CRM systems
  3. Experience of working with change and supporting individuals with it
  4. Experience of engaging effectively with a wide range of people

Knowledge

  1. Evidenced working knowledge and track record of Salesforce and Salesforce Lightning and associated Salesforce ‘apps’ to support a Charity (the Trust is currently using Smart Suite)
  2. Understanding of how a charity works
  3. Understanding of confidentiality
  4. Appreciation of the importance of carrying out key data processes in a secure, compliant and accurate way
  5. Ability to interpret and analyse existing datasets
  6. Demonstrable understanding of the purpose of databases within an organisation
  7. Ability to review information and use it to inform strategy and practice including turning data into information

Skills and abilities
