Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is the UK’s leading dementia research charity dedicated to diagnosis, prevention, treatment, and cure. The Research team at ARUK is responsible for delivering on the charity’s principal remit: to fund world-class research with the aim of ultimately defeating dementia.

The Dementia Consortium is one of ARUK’s flagship translational research initiatives, partnering with seven leading pharmaceutical companies to fund and facilitate projects validating novel drug targets for the diseases that cause dementia. As the managing partner in the Dementia Consortium, ARUK is seeking a Scientific Research Manager to support the Head of Translational Science. 

  • In this role you will work alongside experts from academia and industry and support the Head of Translational Science to facilitate the development and delivery of translational research projects. 
  • You will support the Head of Translational Science in managing and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You will represent ARUK in the Dementia Consortium at internal and external meetings.
  • You will support the Head of Translational Science and work with the Research Team at ARUK to facilitate the application process and the scientific review of proposals to the Dementia Consortium.
  • You will develop a good understanding of the dementia research and funding landscape, with a particular focus on novel dementia drug targets relevant to our emerging understanding of human disease.
  • You will support the Head of Translational Science and work alongside other teams at ARUK as required to maintain and improve the visibility of the Dementia Consortium.
  • You will work alongside other teams at ARUK as required ensure achievements across the Dementia Consortium are publicised to showcase Dementia Consortium impact.

Location: Granta Park, near Cambridge (flexible working considered)

Salary: Circa £40,000 per annum, plus benefits
