Job Description
Befriending Development Officer
Full time - 37.5 hours per week, £24,000-£25,000 Fixed Term contract with potential for extension
Be part of Age UK Sutton’s vital befriending services for older people, at a time when they are never more needed
Contract to 31 March 2021, with potential for extension.
Age UK Sutton is seeking to appoint a Befriending Development Officer to support the Volunteering Manager to develop Befriending across the charity. This is a new role, made possible by a National Lottery Community Fund grant. The objective of this fixed term project is both to support and coordinate our current befriending programmes, and to work with the Volunteering Manager to review, develop, and put in place a long term befriending plan for the charity. We are actively seeking long term funding for this role, so there is potential for this fixed term contract to be extended.
Reporting to the Volunteering Manager, you will coordinate the befriending service, supervising and supporting the volunteers, and evaluating and developing the service which provides enabling support to a wide range of clients, including beneficiaries of our commissioned Home From Hospital service and a grant funded project.
Please note that applications will be considered as they are received, so please apply early
