Acquaint is a community of volunteers who engage in cultural networking to build global solidarity and social cohesion. Volunteers connect 1-on-1 via the Acquaint platform, and a series of virtual experiences serve as icebreakers for conversation. The goal of every conversation is to actively listen, learn, and share with people across all walks of life.

Role Description

Help build peace and overcome global divisions while strengthening your intercultural communication skills. At Acquaint, you can build your relationship with the world through 1-on-1 conversations with other volunteers from over 35 countries.

Acquaint is one of the most convenient and rewarding ways to volunteer. The process is simple. First: enter times that you are available in Acquaint's web app. Next, Acquaint pairs you with someone else from around the world during your available time. Finally, at the time of your session, connect for an approximately one-hour conversation and virtual icebreaker. Your session partner could be down the street, or on the other side of the globe.

Qualifications and Requirements

• English language fluency
• Basic computer skills
• Internet connection
• Must be 14 years of age or older
• If under 18, permission from a parent or guardian

Time Commitment

• Minimum of 1 hour per week
• Flexible scheduling
• Open Hours: 5:00am - 10:00pm Pacific Time (United States)
• Must complete Acquaint’s onboarding program, which takes 3-5 hours
