Emergency Department Peer Support Lead
the hepatitis c trust

Job Description

The Hepatitis C Trust develops projects nationally where peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training, increase hepatitis C awareness, and access to testing and treatment, for people living with hepatitis C.

We are looking for a passionate and skilled peer support lead who has excellent communication and organisational skills to support a pilot of an enhanced hepatitis C test-and-treat service in the Emergency Department (ED) at Bristol Royal Infirmary.

We aim to increase screening of patients, particularly among high impact users, frequent presentations and homeless, using rapid point-of-care tests, and to support those with hepatitis C to effective treatment and care.

Managed the Hepatitis C Trust, this will be a part of the established Bristol and Severn Hepatitis peer support team.  The post-holder will also work closely with the Hepatitis C specialist nurse treatment team at Bristol Royal Infirmary and with the local Homeless Health service. Data collection of outcomes will be a key element of the role.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
