About The Myton Hospices

The Myton Hospices is an organisation at the forefront of palliative and end of life care across Coventry and Warwickshire and with a national profile. We have three hospice bases, two inpatient units and a developing range of outpatient and community services.

We have almost 300 staff and over 800 volunteers who are committed to improving the quality of life for patients and their families. Our people are central to the success of the hospice working across our palliative care services, our fundraising, support teams and our extensive retail footprint.

We are a much loved and well-supported charity at the heart of the community. Myton is looking forward, post the pandemic – aiming to increase our reach and impact especially within our diverse communities.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join us as a Trustee, working on the Board to lead and support the charity to develop and improve palliative care services for local people.  As a Trustee you will be involved in setting the strategic direction of the hospice, creating a culture of compassionate patient care and ensuring the organisation works safely within the governance set by the Charity and Care Quality Commissions.

To support our strategic plan applications are encouraged from those who have experience in:

1. Health system finance and/or business, entrepreneurial acumen
2. Nursing and in particular palliative care specialist nursing
3. Community engagement within diverse communities
4. Income generation and fundraising.

To enable us to better serve our patients and local communities people in underrepresented groups will be very welcome to join the Trustee team. If you have experience or skills working with diverse groups please identify this in the application for the Trustee role, should you wish to do so.
