Job Description

As the Women’s Development & Advocacy Support Officer (WDAO) you will be highly driven playing a pivotal role in creating, developing and delivering TM’s Gypsy, Roma and Traveller women’s and girl’s strategy. Your advocacy role will consist of women with complex needs such as mental health, domestic abuse, homeless, and those with children that may have social care involvement and school exclusions.
You will seek out key networks and establish connections with a wide range of key stakeholders to ensure the needs of these women are being included, heard and acted upon. You will create opportunities for women to harness and develop their self-advocacy skills and develop opportunities for the Traveller Movement to grow and sustain this programme of work. By working closely with healthcare professionals, Women’s Sector, Police, GPs, Community Mental Health teams, Domestic Abuse Services, Social Services and the Social Care sector your dedication will make an impact- a better and brighter future for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller women and girls.
