Job Description

This exciting new role has been created to help us champion the impact of our work, better engage with our supporters, and help us to reach a larger audience to raise the profile of the issues we tackle every day with communities around the world.

As humanitarian architects, Article 25 designs and builds schools, hospitals and homes with communities in the wake of disaster, conflict, and poverty. Our vision is to create thriving, more resilient communities with better access to education, healthcare, and safer homes.We provide the skills and knowledge needed to make this a reality. We have worked on more than 90 projects in 36 countries, making us the most far-reaching architectural NGO in the world.

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Communications and Engagement Officer with a strong understanding of social media and sub editing, an aptitude for producing engaging written and visual content, and who enjoys building a (physical and digital) community of supporters in a charity setting.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high performing team of staff and volunteers with a shared vision to improve access to education, healthcare and safe homes worldwide.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• 2+ years’ experience working in a communications role (desirable to include experience working in the charity sector)

• Excellent written communications skills with the ability to write engaging and inspiring content.

• Experience working with website content management systems and social media for a brand, business or organisation, including social media scheduling, mailing, and monitoring tools.

• Applied knowledge and understanding of digital communications trends, and the ever-evolving social media space, to grow and nurture relationships with a digital community of supporters.

• Experience of working with journalists and digital influencers to help raise organisational profile/brand or specific issues within the mainstream media.

• Strong organisational skills and ability to develop forward planning of content as part of a wider communications strategy.

• Ability to coordinate and support volunteers as part of a wider team

• Experience in and understanding of the development and humanitarian sectors (desirable)
