We seek trustees to join the board of a market leading awarding body delivering world-class qualifications internationally.

Vocational Training Charitable Trust (VTCT) is a market leading specialist awarding and assessment organisation developing and delivering world-class vocational and technical qualifications in a range of service sectors. These include Hair and Beauty, Complementary Therapies, Sport, Active Health & Fitness and Learning & Development. We have around 100,000 learners studying each year at one of our 2,000 approved centres globally.

Due to vacancies caused by retirement, we are seeking two Trustees to join the Board. We need people who can demonstrate strategic vision, sound commercial and financial acumen with excellent communication skills. We would like to attract people from a wide range of backgrounds, who will bring a fresh perspective to the Board of Trustees and therefore welcome applications from all sections of the community.

We would really value someone who is a qualified accountant and brings financial, audit or risk management experience.  Additionally, we would like someone from an independent training provider, Further Education or Sixth Form College as these are currently under-represented on the Board. We would also welcome applications who have relevant lived experience, perhaps as a young learner, for example.

If you have previous Trustee or executive board experience so much the better, but we would also be pleased to consider those who are aspiring to be a trustee of a large charity for the first time. Most of all, we are looking for people to join us who have the enthusiasm, commitment and passion for advancing education and improving career and life prospects.

It is an exciting and complex time for VTCT. We are developing a new organisational strategy and delivering a change programme to meet the challenge of the pandemic and its impact upon learners and apprentices world-wide. We want to ensure our qualifications, assessments, services, and programmes are set to deliver for learners in to the future.
